Art, code & credits
A personal portfolio adventure for Ke Wang. Its architecture is a playful interpretation of research and career destinations, not a literal campus or workplace map.
Artwork
- MRFoundry workshop, Adobe Research building and MRI scanner companion: original assets authored in Blender for this portfolio. The modeled shingles, windows, porch, materials and companion are rendered as real 3D geometry, not a background image.
- Foliage and rocks: nine models from Quaternius’ Stylized Nature MegaKit, Standard edition, published by the creator under CC0 1.0. Official creator upload. Models are curated, instanced, recolored where needed and optimized for this scene.
- Animated trainer: adapted from Quaternius’ Animated Human Low Poly, released under CC0 1.0. The original rig and Idle/Walk/Run/Jump clips are retained. Ke’s public portrait inspired the black hair, rectangular glasses, blue cable-knit sweater, white collar, black trousers and watch. These details and dark sneakers were modeled for the portfolio; the earlier red cap is removed. Source and conversion details.
- Landscape, paving, gardens, route signs, bridges and secondary landmarks: original procedural scene geometry created for this portfolio.
- Travel modes and surface textures: original stylized bicycle, vehicle and horse models, with locally generated timber, gravel, meadow and mineral detail. The blue sedan, angular pickup and sports car are playful interpretations of a Model S, Cybertruck and Porsche 911; no manufacturer models or logos are used.
- Painted meadow: original instanced grass and wildflower geometry, wind shaders, soft water shading and an AI-generated ground albedo made with OpenAI image generation. Material provenance and generation prompt. No Zelda artwork or game textures are used.
- Charizard ride: original, unofficial fan-art geometry made for this portfolio, with a posed rider, articulated folded wings, claws, saddle and flame-tail. Charizard is a Pokémon character; the model is not extracted from a game or an official asset.
- Camera Buddy: an original modeled rangefinder companion, with layered lens elements, leather grip, strap loops and mechanical controls. The backpack portrait is rendered from the same 3D model used in the village.
- Mac, Prism and Tempo: original modeled companions: a miniature Macintosh-inspired computer with a recessed CRT and keyboard, an optical prism in a brass cradle, and a cassette player with headphones. All backpack thumbnails and rotatable previews render these same 3D models.
- Room interiors: original modeled furniture, cutaway architecture, lighting fixtures and exhibition frames. Photographs and research figures retain their full proportions; each display links to its original project or publication.
